Agent templates are pre-built custom agents for everyday IT jobs. Use one when you want an agent running quickly without writing it from a blank form.
Feature/Functionality
Overview
A template fills in the agent form for you: name, description, instructions and triggers. It also switches on the Factorial IT connector. You check it, adjust it to your company and create it like any other agent.
How to use
- Go to AI Agents > Agents and click Browse templates. The Templates catalogue opens.
- Choose a tab: All, Equipment, SaaS, Tickets or Orders. Search by name or description to narrow the list. Each card says what the template does and when it runs by default. To build an agent with no template, click Start from scratch.
- Click a template card. The agent form opens with everything pre-filled.
- Adapt it to your company. Read the instructions in full and swap anything generic for your own people, thresholds and policies. Then review the rest of the form:
- Triggers. Most templates run at 09:00 on a schedule: every day, every Monday or on the 1st of each month. Close the eMudhra CA exposure runs every 2 hours. The schedule uses your browser's time zone; change the time zone, day, time or frequency to suit your team. Keep a custom field up to date has no trigger and runs only when you click Run now. Add a schedule if you want the field kept current.
- Knowledge. Select the published knowledge base items the agent must follow.
- Connectors. Only the Factorial IT connector is on. Switch on any other connector the job needs and check its tool policies.
- Click Create. The agent starts enabled and runs at its next trigger. Editing it later does not change the template.
Available templates
Each category has its own tab: Equipment, SaaS, Tickets and Orders. Platform templates span several areas, so they have no tab of their own and appear under every tab. All shows the full list.

What a template allows
Every template's instructions spell out what the agent may do by itself and what it must put to you for approval. The tool policies on its connectors apply as well, so set them before you create the agent.
Tips and Best Practices
- Read the instructions end to end before creating. Replace generic wording with your real people, thresholds and policies.
- Check the time zone. The schedule follows your browser's time zone, which may not match your team's.
- Set tool policies first. They apply on top of the template's instructions, so configure them before clicking Create.
- Add only the connectors the job needs. A template starts with just the Factorial IT connector.
- Schedule Keep a custom field up to date. Without a trigger it only runs when you click Run now.
Troubleshooting and FAQ
Troubleshooting
- The agent ran at an unexpected hour. The schedule uses your browser's time zone. Change the time zone in Triggers.
- Keep a custom field up to date never runs. It has no trigger by default. Click Run now, or add a schedule.
- The agent cannot reach a tool it needs. Only the Factorial IT connector is on at the start. Switch on the other connector in Connectors.
FAQ

Yes. It is created enabled and runs at its next trigger.
-
Why do some templates appear under every tab?
They are Platform templates. They cover several areas, so they have no tab of their own.
