How to sync Factorial with your calendar app

Learn how to sync your Factorial Calendar with your favorite calendar app

To connect your calendars

When we synchronize the Google Calendar with Factorial, the information is transferred from Factorial to the Google Calendar. This means that all events shown in the calendar, including birthdays, out of office and celebrations will be copied.

  1. On your sidebar, head to Calendar
  2. Click on Calendar Feed, located in the upper right corner
  3. Choose the calendar you want to sync
  4. Click on Copy URL

Your Outlook Calendar will now display people’s absences, company events, and holidays.

How to Remove or Stop the Sync

There is no “disconnect” button inside Factorial for calendar feeds. To stop syncing, you need to remove or unsubscribe from the Factorial feed in your calendar app:

  • Google Calendar: Under Other calendars, open the settings for the Factorial calendar and select Remove or Unsubscribe.
  • Apple Calendar (iCal): In the sidebar, right-click the subscribed calendar and choose Unsubscribe.
  • Outlook
    • If you added it as an Internet Calendar subscription (via Account Settings > Internet Calendars), remove the subscription there.

    • If you imported a .ics file (via File > Open & Export > Import/Export), this is a one-time import. To stop updates, delete the imported calendar or events. (This is based on the import method shown in the documentation and should be verified in your Outlook settings.)

Sync Frequency (Refresh Timing)

Factorial does not control the refresh interval. iCal feeds are updated according to the schedule of your calendar app.

Updates are not immediate and vary depending on Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook.

Practical tip: For the most up-to-date information in Outlook, use the Internet Calendar subscription method instead of importing a .ics file, since the subscription keeps the feed updated automatically.
