How to set up 2-Factor Authentication

Adding a second step to the sign in process makes your Factorial account safer

2-factor authentication works for users accessing with email and password. Single sign-on users won't have the 2-factor authentication available.

 

 

How to set up multi-factor authentication

  1. On the sidebar, clock on your name and picture at the bottom, then select Preferences in the menu.
  2.  Under the section Set up 2-Factor authentication in your preferences, click Set up 2-Factor Authentication
     

 

3. Install the Google Authenticator app on your mobile phone. Links to Android and iOS

4. Scan the QR code with the app and enter the verification code that it generates into Factorial


 

How to log in with multi-factor authentication

If you’ve set up 2-factor authentication for your account, you will need to enter a 6-digit code generated by your Google Authenticator app after you enter your password.

  1. Sign in from your PC and enter your previously defined email and password.
  2.  Open the Authenticator app on your phone and type the code that appears into Factorial.

This code will only be needed when you have logged out from the PC or a certain amount of time has passed since the last login.
