The Security Settings tab inside your company settings is designed to provide you with enhanced control over your organization's security measures.
By following the simple steps outlined in this article, you can access and configure essential security options such as single sign-on and multifactor authentication.
To view and adjust the Security settings tab, you need to have the "Edit Company Security Settings" permission enabled. If you can't see the tab, it probably means you don't have the permission. In that case, kindly reach out to your administrator for help.
Where to find the Security Settings tab:
- On your sidebar, go to Settings
- Within General, find Security Settings
Configuring Security Settings
Inside this tab you will find:
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
Single Sign-On is a convenient authentication method that enables your employees to access multiple applications or systems using a single set of login credentials. It eliminates the need for remembering multiple usernames and passwords, allowing seamless navigation between different systems.
- Authentication
Authentication methods ensure that only authorized users gain entry. From Factorial, we offer the possibility to enable two-factor authentication (combining multiple credentials).
To set up Single Sign-On (SSO):
- In the Security Settings tab, find the "Single Sign-On" section
- Switch on the Enable Single Sign On (SSO) toggle
- Locate the Authentication section in the Security Settings tab
- Switch on the Enable Multi-Factor Authentication toggle
- Follow the instructions to configure MFA with the required authentication factors.
To enable password rotation:
- Locate the Password rotation section in the Security Settings tab
- Switch on the Rotate password toggle
- You can choose between a 30, 60, 90, 180 or 365 days rotation
- Hit Save changes
When activated, users with expired passwords will be guided through a simple password change process before gaining access. This contributes to a robust and secure system.
Security Settings Permissions
Administrators have exclusive visibility and editing rights for Security Settings. You can modify the permissions within the respective section of each permission group:
- On your sidebar, go to Settings
- In General, select Permissions
- Open the Permission group
- Find Edit company Security Settings
- Enable the permission
- Click on Save changes
