When someone gives you feedback that you're allowed to see, Factorial sends you an email. Feedback has no in-app or mobile push notifications, and managers aren't notified when their reports receive feedback.

Before you start

• Emails go to the email address in your Factorial account.
• The feedback email appears under the Feedbacks category, as Notify about feedback received.

Steps

Read a feedback email (employee)

1. Open the feedback email from Factorial.
2. Click View in Factorial to open Performance > Feedbacks.

Rules and behavior

• If the visibility is The employee only or The employee and their manager, then each receiver gets the email.
• If the visibility is Their manager only, then nobody gets an email.
• If a feedback is sent to several people, then each receiver gets their own email.
• Managers never get an email when their reports receive feedback.
• The author doesn't get a confirmation email. A Sent successfully message appears in Factorial instead.

Limitations

• You can't turn off the feedback email. It is always on.
• You can't get feedback notifications in the Factorial notification inbox or as mobile push notifications.
• Managers can't subscribe to feedback about their reports.
• There are no reminders to give feedback.
• There are no Slack or Microsoft Teams notifications for feedback.

Troubleshooting

• Symptom: "I didn't get an email for feedback I can see in Factorial." → Cause: the email may be in spam or filtered by your company's email system. → Fix: check spam and ask IT to allow emails from Factorial.
• Symptom: "I got no email and I can't see the feedback." → Cause: the feedback was sent with Their manager only. → Fix: none. That feedback is only for your managers.
• Symptom: "My manager says they weren't told about feedback I received." → Cause: managers aren't notified. → Fix: managers can check Performance > Feedbacks.

1. Will my manager be emailed when I get feedback?

No. Only the receivers get an email.

2. Can I stop receiving feedback emails?

No. The feedback email can't be turned off.
