The Employees view of Performance > Goals groups goals by person. Clicking a person, or their View details button, opens a side panel with all their goals for a period: their Individual goals, grouped by period and frequency, and the Collective goals they share with a team or the company. From the side panel you can weight the person's goals, add a goal for them and act on each goal without leaving the page. The Employees view replaces the old People tab of goals.
Before you start
- You need See key results with a scope that covers other employees (for example, direct reports or the whole company). People who can only see their own goals don't get the Employees view.
- To add a goal from the side panel, you need Create key results with a scope that covers that person.
- To weight a person's goals, you need Update key results' progress with a scope that covers that person. See Weight an employee's goals.
Steps
Open the Employees view
- Go to Performance > Goals.
- Click Employees in the view bar above the list.
- The list groups goals by assignee. Each group is collapsed and shows the person's name and photo. If exactly one of the person's weight groups falls in the selected period, the header also shows that group's progress bar, weighted by the goals' weights.
- Optional: use the date navigator to pick the year, quarter, month or a custom range, and the Assignees or Direct reports filters to narrow the people shown.

Open a person's side panel
- In the Employees view, click the person's name in the group header, or hover the header and click View details. To open your own panel, click one of your cards at the top of Performance > Goals.
- The side panel opens on the right with the person's name and photo, the number of goals (for example "7 goals") and a date navigator set to the same period as the list.
- Use the arrows at the top of the panel to move to the previous or next person in the list.

Read the panel
- Individual goals · N lists goals assigned only to this person. They are grouped by period and frequency, for example "2026 · Yearly" and "Q4 2026 · Monthly", widest period first. Each group header shows the group's overall progress, weighted by the goals' weights. Default columns: Goal, Weight and Progress.
- Collective goals · N lists goals the person shares with others, such as team, legal entity, job role or company goals. Default columns: Goal, Progress and Assigned to.
- Goals that have sub-goals show an expand arrow. Expand a goal to see its sub-goals nested below it.
- To show more columns, open the table settings and turn on any of Period, Status, Attainment, Target, Type, Frequency, Start date or Due date. You can also reorder columns there.
- If the person has no goals in the selected period, the panel shows "No goals in this period".

Add a goal for this person in a period
- In the side panel, find the period group under Individual goals.
- Click New Goal in that group's header.
- The goal wizard opens with the person in Assign to and the group's period and Target frequency already filled in. You can change any of them.
- Complete the wizard. The new goal appears in the panel, which stays open.
You can also click New Goal in a person's group header in the Employees view. That opens the wizard with the person already assigned. See Create a goal: measurement, period, targets and assignees.

Weight the person's goals
- In the side panel, find the period group under Individual goals.
- Click Assign weights in that group's header.
- Follow Weight an employee's goals.

Act on a goal from the panel
- Open the row menu (…) of a goal in the panel.
- Choose an action. The panel offers the same actions as the goals list, depending on your permissions: Update progress, Edit goal, Duplicate goal, Add sub-goal, Unlink from parent, View members and Delete goal.
- Click the goal's name to open its detail page.

Rules and behavior
- If you can only see your own goals, then the Employees view is not shown.
- Nested sub-goals and the Add sub-goal and Unlink from parent actions belong to cascading goals, which are available on the Enterprise plan.
- If a goal is assigned only to this person (picked by name, with nobody else), then it appears under Individual goals. Every other goal the person is part of appears under Collective goals.
- If an individual goal is a sub-goal of another goal of the same person, then it appears nested under that parent instead of at the top level.
- If a collective goal's parent is also in the panel, then the collective goal appears when you expand its parent.
- If you can't create goals for this person, then New Goal is not shown in the panel. View details is still shown in the Employees view.
- If some goals in a group have weights, then the group's progress bar is a weighted average. If no goal has a weight, it is the plain average. The bars update when you save weights.
- If a person has more than one weight group in the period selected in the Employees view, then their group header shows no progress bar. Open their side panel to see each group.
- If the panel's date navigator is set to a year, then goals that overlap that year are shown. If it is set to a quarter, month or custom range, then only goals fully inside that period are shown.
- The Employees view groups the goals of the current page of results. A person whose goals span several pages appears in each page where they have goals.
Limitations
- You can't open the side panel for a team, legal entity or job role. It is only for one person.
- The group header in the Employees view does not show how many goals each person has.
Troubleshooting
- Symptom: "I don't see the Employees view." → Cause: Your See key results scope only covers yourself. → Fix: Ask an admin for a wider scope in Settings > Permissions > Goals.
- Symptom: "A team goal doesn't show in my report's Individual goals." → Cause: Goals assigned to a team, legal entity, job role, the company or several people are collective. → Fix: Look under Collective goals.
- Symptom: "There's no New Goal button in the panel." → Cause: Your Create key results scope does not cover this person. → Fix: Ask an admin to adjust your scope.
- Symptom: "The panel says 'No goals in this period' but the person has goals." → Cause: The panel's date navigator is on a period that does not contain those goals. → Fix: Change the period in the panel's date navigator.
- Symptom: "Filtering by a team in the Employees view shows 'No individual goal can match these filters'." → Cause: Individual goals are assigned to hand-picked people, so they never match a Company, Legal entity, Team or Job role filter. → Fix: Clear those filters, or switch to Goals.
