If you are using app-based multi factor authentication and are changing devices, you need to disable it and configure it on your new phone to precent losing access to your account.
How to disable multi-factor authentication for your own account
You can disable MFA for your account by following these steps. If you lost your device and cannot sign in, ask an administrator in your company to disable it for you.
- On the sidebar, click on your name at the bottom and select Preferences in the menu
- Under the section “Two factor authentication”, click on “Disable MFA”

For security reasons, admins are always required to go through multi-factor authentication. If you are an admin and disable the authenticator app for your account, you’ll need to enter a code sent to your email address every time you sign in.
How to disable multi-factor authentication for an employee in your company
Admins can disable multi-factor authentication for employees in their company through the employee profile.
- Click Organisation on the sidebar and search for your employee
- Go to their profile and select “Disable MFA” under the 3-dots button at the top right

3. Confirm that you want to disable MFA
Your employee will now be able to sign in without entering a verification code. Keep in mind that if your company mandates setting up MFA, they’ll need to configure an authenticator app the next time they sign in.
If you cannot see the “Disable MFA” option on the employee’s profile, it might be because they have not enabled it, or because they are part of multiple companies. For security reasons, users which have access to multiple companies should contact support to request disabling multi-factor authentication.
