The Global Approver is the person or role located at the final level of an absence approval flow. This role holds the ultimate decision-making authority, meaning they can approve any absence request, regardless of whether earlier levels have approved it or not. This ensures that every absence request goes through a final review before being considered approved.
Global approval logic: If a Global Approver approves a request, the absence is marked as approved, even if earlier levels haven't yet approved it.
How to set up the approval flow
Learn more about the approval flow here.
You can create an approval flow with multiple levels, assigning different people or roles to each level.
- On your sidebar, go to Settings
- In Time section, click on Time off
- Once in there, scroll down until you find Approvals groups
- From the time off approvals groups section, click on Add new approval group or edit an existing one
- Click on the three dots to edit the approval level
- Select the new approver for the first level
- To create a new approval level:
- Click on Add approval level
- Select the Approver type and the Approver
- Click on Add
- Click on Save changes

Identify the last level: The person or role in the final level automatically becomes a Global Approver.
Example:
Level 1: Team Lead
Level 2 (final level): HR Manager (Global Approver)
If the HR Manager approves the absence before the Team Lead, the request is immediately marked as approved.
Adjust permissions (if needed)
If you want someone to be part of the last approval level but not act as a Global Approver, remove their permission to approve/reject leaves.
This allows them to see the requests and be included in the flow without overriding previous approvals.

Example:
Level 1: Team Lead
Level 2: Country Manager (no approval permission)
The Country Manager can view requests, but their action won't finalize the approval unless they are granted approval rights.
