Presential Meetings

Gain insights on the importance and benefits of face-to-face presential meetings in today's digital age.

Presential meetings are in-person 1:1s that use the same link as virtual sessions. When opening the link, you can choose to start as a presential meeting or a video call. Selecting presential opens the shared notes directly, letting you capture in-person discussions with AI summaries, notes, and follow-ups.

Presential meetings are ideal for companies with hybrid or in-office setups. They help managers and employees maintain the same 1:1 structure and continuity whether meetings happen online or face to face.

How to start a presential meeting

  1. Go to your calendar and click on the scheduled 1:1
  2. Open the meeting link. Factorial will take you to the meeting page where you can start it either as a presential meeting or as a video call
  3. If you’re meeting in person, select Presential meeting
  4. Choose the microphone you want to use. Click the microphone icon to open the configuration menu
  5. Select the correct device from the list (for example, your built-in laptop mic or an external one)
  6. Once configured, click Start to begin
  7. When the meeting ends, click Finish to stop the transcription and save everything automatically

The AI automatically identifies the manager and employee from the meeting transcript to keep summaries, insights, and recommendations accurate and personalized.

Best Practices

  • Always verify your microphone before starting the session to ensure clear audio
  • Keep the tab open while the meeting is active to maintain transcription accuracy
  • Write short notes or highlights during the meeting to help the AI generate a complete summary
  • Review and edit the AI summary afterward to confirm accuracy
  • Use the AI Chat after the meeting to generate recaps, detect themes, or create follow-up actions
