With the latest update, Factorial ONE is now available on mobile, allowing employees to instantly access HR information, company policies, and time-off data by simply asking natural-language questions. This update marks a significant step toward improving accessibility, speed, and employee self-service.

Overview

Factorial ONE on mobile brings text-based information retrieval to employees on the go. By tapping into the mobile app, employees can now ask questions and receive instant answers regarding company policies, PTO balances, upcoming absences, team structures, and more. It’s designed to simplify the user experience, providing quick and easy access to essential information, all through an intuitive chat interface.

When and why It should be used

This new feature should be used whenever employees need quick, easy access to information while on the go, such as checking remaining PTO, getting answers about company policies, or finding out who’s on specific teams. It’s perfect for remote workers or anyone who needs to access HR data outside of the desktop app. This is particularly useful for reducing friction and improving employee autonomy, as they can retrieve relevant info without needing to navigate multiple screens or contact HR.

How to use

Here’s how to use ONE on Mobile:

  1. Open the Factorial Mobile App
Tap the Factorial icon to open the mobile app on your device
  2. Tap the ONE Icon
You’ll find the ONE chat icon on the main screen. Tap it to start the chat
  3. Ask your question
Type your question in natural language, such as “What’s our remote work policy?” or “How many vacation days do I have left?”
  4. Get instant answers
ONE will retrieve the relevant information from your company’s policies, documents, time-off records, or people data and display it in the chat

If you can’t find the ONE icon on my mobile app, ensure that your app is updated to Version 25.12.2 (for Android).

If ONE isn't retrieving the information you need, it is because ONE currently supports information retrieval only. If the information isn't available, try rephrasing your question or ensure that the data is available in the system (e.g., ensure the employee has PTO data or that the document is uploaded in the system).

Tips and best practices

Be specific in your queries: For quicker and more accurate results, try to be specific in your questions (e.g., “Who’s on the People team?” rather than just “Who’s in the company?”).

Use ONE as your first point of contact: If you need information quickly, start with ONE before reaching out to HR for assistance.

Stay updated on new features: This release is just the beginning! Future updates will expand the functionality, including the ability to make requests, edits, and trigger workflows directly from the mobile app.
