This article explains how to apply a fixed IRPF percentage to an employee’s payroll. You’ll learn where to enter the value and when it may be useful to use a fixed tax percentage instead of an automatically calculated one.
Overview
The fixed IRPF option allows you to manually define the same withholding percentage for an employee’s payrolls.
This can be useful when:
- An employee requests a specific withholding percentage
- A legal or tax adjustment requires a fixed rate
- You need to temporarily override the automatically calculated IRPF
Once configured, the selected percentage will be applied to future payroll calculations until it is updated or removed.
To be able to edit the IRPF percentage, make sure you have permission to Edit personal info.

How to use
To apply a fixed IRPF percentage:
- In your sidebar, go to Organisation
- Go to the employee profile
- Access the Personal details tab
- Scroll down to Personal Income Tax
- This is the type of IRPF that will be applied to the employees
- Enter the percentage you want to apply
- Save the changes

Consider that if you contract benefits, the percentage may go down according to your products.
If the fixed IRPF is not being applied, verify that the percentage was saved correctly and confirm there are no payroll locks or validation issues.
Tips and best practices
- Confirm the percentage with your finance or tax advisor before applying changes
- Inform the employee when manually modifying their IRPF rate
- Review fixed percentages periodically to ensure they are still accurate
- Avoid using fixed IRPF values unless necessary, as automatic calculations are designed to adapt to salary changes and legal requirements
FAQ
-
Does the fixed IRPF override the automatic calculation?
Yes. Once a fixed percentage is added, the system uses that value instead of the automatic IRPF calculation.
-
Can I remove the fixed IRPF later?
Yes. You can delete or update the percentage at any time from the employee’s payroll information.
-
Will this affect previous payrolls?
No. Changes only apply to payrolls generated after the update.
