Managing Cost Centers can be challenging when handling multiple updates or assignments. The new Bulk Actions and People Tab features simplify this process by allowing you to manage, import, and review all Cost Centers and employee assignments in one place.
Overview
The Cost Centers Settings update introduces new tools that help HR and Finance teams manage Cost Centers efficiently:
- Quickly identify active and deactivated Cost Centers.
- Edit details directly from the main view without switching pages.
- Import multiple Cost Centers at once using a single template.
- View and manage employee assignments from the new People tab.
- Use bulk actions to assign Cost Centers to employees during initial setup.
When and Why It Should Be Used
- Review and maintain a clear overview of all Cost Centers.
- Update or deactivate Cost Centers while preserving historical data.
- Onboard new teams and assign Cost Centers in bulk.
- Cross-check employee assignments with external systems by using both the Cost Center ID and Name.
How to Use
Manage Cost Centers
- Go to the Settings → Cost centers
- Use the filters to view either Active or Deactivated Cost Centers
- Click on a Cost Center to open the side panel and edit details, such as:
- Name
- Code
- Description
To keep historical tracking accurate, remember that Cost Centers with past assignments cannot be permanently deleted, they can only be deactivated.

Import Cost Centers in Bulk
- Click Import and choose the Universal Importer option
- Download the template and fill in your Cost Center data (Name, ID, Code, etc.)
- Upload the completed file to import multiple Cost Centers at once
- Review the imported data and confirm changes

Manage Employee Assignments in the People Tab
- Open the People tab within Cost Centers
- Use filters to view employees with or without assignments
- Review each employee’s:
- Assigned Cost Center(s)
- Allocation percentages
- Assignment dates
- Cost Center ID and Name
- Edit an employee’s Cost Center assignment directly from this page
Use Bulk Editor to assign multiple employees to their first Cost Center during initial setup, future changes must be done manually or one by one.
