The Global Approver holds the ultimate decision-making authority, meaning they can approve any absence request, regardless of whether earlier levels have approved it or not. This ensures that every absence request goes through a final review before being considered approved.
Being a Global Approver depends on two clear conditions:
- The person has the “Approve/Reject Time Off” permission turned ON.
- The person is assigned as a responsible approver at any level in a Time Off Approval Flow.
When these two conditions are met, that person becomes a Global Approver, but only for the approval groups they belong to.
Use this feature when you need to:
- Manage who can approve time-off requests.
- Include someone in an approval flow for visibility (notifications only), without granting them approval power.
- Simplify permissions management by using one easy “on/off” switch.
How to Use
- Check the “Approve/Reject Time Off” permission group of the employee you want to be global approver
- If turned ON, the person can act as a Global Approver within their assigned groups.
- If turned OFF, they will still appear in the flow (for notifications or tracking) but won’t have approval power
- Assign the person to the correct Time Off Approval Flow at any level (if not already)
- Save your changes
That’s it! The system will automatically recognize their status based on the two conditions above
To remove their "Global Approver" power, just go to their settings and turn OFF their "Approve/Reject Time Off" permission.
They will remain in the flow to be notified, but they will not have the power to be a Global Approver and will have the same approver powers as the other people in the same level.
