This feature provides visibility of the Bank of Hours balance within the shift management view. It helps managers make more informed planning decisions by allowing them to cross-check scheduled time with the actual time worked.
How to configure it
The Bank of Hours is calculated based on attendance records and represents the difference between expected and actual worked hours. This balance updates automatically based on the company’s time tracking configuration (daily, monthly, etc.).
- In your sidebar, go to Settings → Time
- Click on Time tracking and select the time tracking policy you want
- Go to the Work time categories tab
- In the Extra hours calculation section, scroll down until Bank of hours frequency
-
Establish when the Bank of hours counter should reset:
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Yearly
- Never

Setting up expected working hours
To calculate the Bank of Hours balance correctly, it’s essential to define how many hours each employee is expected to work. This expected value is what the system uses to compare against the actual hours tracked via Attendance.
You can define expected hours in three different ways:
- Contract Hours – Set the total agreed working hours in the employee’s contract.
- Work Schedules – Define a recurring working pattern for each employee.
- Shifts – Plan expected hours by assigning specific shifts.
Where to find it
- In your sidebar, go to Shifts
- Locate the Bank of Hours value shown for each employee
- Click on the Bank of Hours value to open a direct link to the employee’s Attendance page
- Review the detailed balance in Attendance, where you can see the accumulated hours over time

The balance may be configured to reset monthly, yearly, or never, depending on your company’s time tracking settings.
