Extra and special hours
Time categories and blocks are now configured in the Time Tracking Policy. Please refer to the relevant articles:
- Special Hours – Configure hours worked during specific time slots or days (e.g. nights, weekends, bank holidays). These are created from the Time Tracking Policy.
- Extra Hour compensation – Set up overtime compensation rules and conversion factors. These are created from the Time Tracking Policy.
Breaks
Breaks are managed in two steps: first you create the break category in Time Categories, then you configure and activate it in the Time Tracking Policy.
Step 1. Create a break type in Time Categories
Before breaks can be used in any policy, you need to define the break type:

- On your sidebar, go to Settings → Time
- Click on Time Categories
- Scroll down to Break types
- Click New break type
- In the modal that appears:
- Enter a name for the break
- Choose the type: Paid break or Unpaid break
- Click Save
Break types cannot be deleted — they can only be archived. Archiving is irreversible and the name cannot be reused.
Step 2 – Enable and configure breaks in the Time Tracking Policy
- For full configuration details, see About breaks.
