Global purchasing lets you buy IT equipment for your teams from the Factorial IT console and have it delivered where your people work. Start here to get the three set-up steps done before your first order.
Feature/Functionality
Overview
Getting ready to buy takes three steps: build a catalogue for each country, switch on the countries you need, and write the purchasing policy that decides how orders get approved and paid.
Once that is done, you can:
- Buy laptops, phones, accessories and other equipment through the Factorial IT B2B purchasing network.
- Use zero-touch deployment, so devices reach the employee already enrolled and work from the first start-up.
- Follow orders, handle shipments and process returns from the console.
- Look after warranties, including extended AppleCare Enterprise cover.
How to use
- Set up your catalogue. Create a catalogue per country and ask for any product you cannot find. See Create and manage your catalogue.
- Enable your countries. Check which countries Factorial IT delivers to and ask for new ones. See Delivery countries.
- Set up your purchasing policy. Decide how orders are approved, where they are delivered, which billing profile pays and which suppliers you use. See Purchasing policy.
Tips and Best Practices
- Follow the order above. A policy is easier to write once you know your countries and catalogue prices.
- Only enable countries where you have people. Each country brings its own catalogue and settings to keep up to date.
- Plan for zero-touch from day one. It only applies to devices bought through Global purchasing.
Troubleshooting and FAQ
Troubleshooting
- You cannot place an order for an employee. Check that their country is enabled and that it has a catalogue. Orders need both.
- A product you want is not in the catalogue. Request it from the catalogue. See Create and manage your catalogue.
