Open a new country

Explore the exciting possibilities of establishing a new country, from governance to culture, and the challenges that come with it.

To buy equipment for employees in a country your account does not cover yet, you enable that country from the console. This article shows how, and what changes once it is active.

Feature/Functionality

Overview

First, check that Factorial IT delivers to the country. See Delivery countries.

  • If the country is on the list, enable it yourself by following the steps below.
  • If it is not, email support@factorial.it with the country and some background on how much you expect to order there. The Factorial IT team looks at the request and tells you how soon delivery there can start.

How to use

  1. Go to Global purchasing > Settings.
  2. Click Shipping countries.
  3. Choose the country from the list. If it is not there, request it as described in the overview. Otherwise, click Activate country, enter a postal address in that country and click Save.
  4. Add a billing profile for the country. In Global purchasing > Settings, open Billing profiles and click New billing profile. Enter a Name, choose the Country where the billed entity is registered and click Create. The country decides the invoice currency: EUR for eurozone countries and USD for the rest.
  5. Finish the profile's billing details and payment method in Hyperline. The profile shows Incomplete until it has a payment method, then Ready.

Once the country is active, its catalogue appears in the catalogue tab.

What happens after activation

When a country is enabled:

  • You can order with delivery addresses in that country.
  • Local carriers and local delivery times apply.
  • The country shows in the delivery address picker when you order.

Country-specific considerations

Some countries come with:

  • Longer delivery times because of customs and import checks.
  • Fewer products (not every SKU can go to every country).
  • Their own warranty conditions.

For questions about a particular country, contact support@factorial.it.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Check the list first. Supported countries take a few clicks; others need a request and some lead time.
  • Set up the billing profile straight away. It stays Incomplete, and cannot pay, until it has a payment method.
  • Pick the country of the billed entity carefully. It sets the invoice currency.
  • Allow extra time for countries with customs checks. Delivery can take longer there.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

Troubleshooting

  • The country is not in the list. Factorial IT does not deliver there yet. Email support@factorial.it with the country and your expected demand.
  • The billing profile shows Incomplete. It has no payment method yet. Add one in Hyperline.
  • A product is missing from the new country's catalogue. Not every SKU is sold in every country. Request it from the catalogue.
