This article explains how Factorial IT prices and sources IT equipment, what you get with each order, and when buying somewhere else makes sense.
Feature/Functionality
Overview
Pricing. Factorial IT buys only through B2B channels, at the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP). That is the price Apple, Dell or Lenovo charge when you buy from them directly. Factorial IT never goes above MSRP, and the manufacturer will not sell for less.
Sourcing. Buying B2B is what makes zero-touch deployment possible. It also means the catalogue only holds business-grade products: Windows Pro, for example, never Windows Home. Factorial IT delivers to the countries listed in Delivery countries.
Every device you order through Factorial IT includes:
- Zero-touch deployment. The device sets itself up the first time it goes online.
- Serial number tracking. The serial number is recorded against the device from the moment you buy it.
- Linked invoices. Each invoice is attached to its devices in your inventory, and you find every invoice in one place.
How to use
Buy outside Factorial IT
Consumer retailers sometimes run offers below MSRP. Those prices are not available through B2B channels, so Factorial IT cannot match them.
You can still buy elsewhere:
- Buy the devices from the retailer.
- Import them into your inventory, or enrol them with one of the enrolment methods.
Devices bought this way do not get zero-touch deployment or linked invoices.

Tips and Best Practices
- Compare like with like. A consumer deal below MSRP usually means a consumer-grade product, without zero-touch deployment or linked invoices.
- Buy through Global purchasing when deployment time matters. Zero-touch saves IT from preparing each device by hand.
- Enrol devices bought elsewhere straight away. That way they are managed like the rest of your fleet.
Troubleshooting and FAQ
Troubleshooting
- A device bought elsewhere did not set itself up. Zero-touch only applies to devices ordered through Factorial IT. Enrol it using one of the enrolment methods.
- An invoice is missing from a device. Only devices ordered through Factorial IT have linked invoices. Devices you import do not.
