By proving you control a domain, Factorial can streamline certain operations related to how your users sign in with their corporate email:
- SSO / SAML can be enabled and enforced.
- Invitations can be automatically accepted without requiring employees to click on a link.
- Email changes can be performed in bulk via security settings.
How to verify a domain in Factorial
Verifying a domain requires elevated privileges that generally only admins have. It also requires IT knowledge on how to add DNS records to your domain. Please ask your IT team for support configuring DNS records.
In Factorial:
- On your sidebar, go to Settings
- Choose Security Settings
- Click on Add domain
- Input the domain, e.g. yourcompany.com
.png)
- Factorial will generate a verification code (e.g.factorial-domain-verification=xxxx). Copy it for later use
Make sure you copy all text in the text box and not only what it is visible. Use the copy button on the right of the text box to get this right:

The next steps must be completed on the control panel / admin interface of your domain registrar or DNS provider (GoDaddy, Gandi, AWS, Cloudflare…).
- Sign in to your domain registrar or DNS provider.
- Add a TXT record to your company domain with the value you copied in the previous step. The TXT record should be added to the top level domain, not to a subdomain.
- Correct way: record is added to the top level domain, e.g. factorial.co

- Incorrect: record is added to a subdomain, e.g. factorial-domain-verification.factorial.co

Once the records are added, go back to Factorial Security Settings where you added the domain:
- Click on Verify. DNS records might take up to 24 hours to fully propagate through the Internet. Factorial will continue attempting to verify the domain during the next few days. You can always request a re-verification by clicking on Verify again.
After verification
After completing domain verification, you can take advantage of streamlined authentication features:
- You can configure SSO / SAML login for your employees with email addresses ending in that domain.
- Invitations and email changes will not need to be confirmed by users clicking on a link, they will just receive an advisory notification.
- You may perform email changes in bulk, as long as the new emails end on your verified domain.
Make sure to keep the DNS record in place while you use Factorial, without them, the above features will not work.
