Pin a view

Pinning sets the view a table page opens on for everyone in your company. Use it when your team should land on the same filtered list every time, such as enrolled devices only.

Feature/Functionality

Overview

Pages that have table views show them as tabs above the table. On Devices, for example, you see All Devices, Enrolled and In Stock. When you pin one of them, the page opens on that view for the whole company.

Before you start: you need admin access to the console. The Pin option is only visible to console admins.

How pinning works

  • A page has a single pinned view. Pinning another view replaces the previous one.
  • The pinned view becomes the first tab on the left.
  • Everyone in your company lands on the pinned view when they open the page.
  • The device catalogue and the accessory catalogue count as one page, so they share a pinned view.
  • If the pinned view is deleted, the page goes back to opening on its normal first view.

You can pin views on these pages:

  • Devices
  • Employees
  • Accessories
  • Orders
  • SaaS apps, identities and issues
  • Tickets
  • Tasks
  • MDM controls
  • Software
  • Compliance issues
  • Catalogue
  • AI agents

The Dashboard page behaves the same way.

How to use

  1. Open the view by clicking its tab above the table.
  2. Open the view menu. Depending on the page, click Display or the view options menu.
  3. Click Pin. The view moves to the first tab on the left, and a message confirms: “This page now opens on this view for everyone in your company.”

Go back to the default view

There is no Unpin option. To make the page open on its default view again, open that view and click Pin on it.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Pin the view your team uses most. It saves everyone a click each time they open the page.
  • Remember it affects the whole company. Pinning is not a personal setting.
  • Check before deleting a pinned view. Deleting it sends the page back to its usual first view.
  • To undo a pin, pin the default view. There is no separate unpin action.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

Troubleshooting

  • You cannot see Pin in the menu. Only console admins see it. Ask an admin to pin the view or to give you admin access.
  • The page stopped opening on the pinned view. The pinned view was probably deleted, so the page fell back to its normal first view.
  • Pinning in the device catalogue changed the accessory catalogue too. That is expected: both catalogues are one page and share one pinned view.

FAQ

  1. Can each person pin a different view?
No. A page has one pinned view, and it applies to everyone in the company.

  2. How do I unpin a view?
There is no unpin action. Open the default view and click Pin on it.

  3. Can I pin more than one view on a page?
No. Pinning a new view replaces the old one.
