Time Settings permissions in Factorial determine who can configure and manage key time-related settings, such as creating and archiving breaks, managing time range categories, and accessing annual balance exports. In this article, you’ll learn what each permission allows, how it affects access to time configuration, and how to set them up correctly to align with your internal roles and time management policies.

Employees must be assigned to the corresponding permissions group for time planning permissions to apply.
How to set up your time setting permissions
- In your sidebar, go to Settings
- Click on Permissions
- Select the time setting section
- Enable or disable permissions
- Click on Save changes

Some permissions let you choose the specific scope of a permission in Factorial: deciding who a user is allowed to perform a certain action on.
- For themselves: Only on their own profile/data.
- For direct and indirect reportees: On employees who report to them, directly or through a hierarchy.
- For people on teams they lead: Only on members of teams they manage.
- For people in their legal entity: Anyone in their department, branch, or company entity.
- For the whole company: Across all employees in the organisation.
