Overview

The contract management feature allows you to update key employment conditions such as working hours, salary, and contract type. Moving from part-time to full-time ensures consistency across payroll, reporting, and compliance records.

When and why it should be used

Use this functionality when:

  • An employee increases their working hours to a full-time schedule
  • There is a role change requiring full-time availability
  • Business needs evolve and require expanded capacity
  • Compensation and benefits need to be updated accordingly

How to use

  1. In your sidebar, go to Organisation
  2. Select the employee you want to update
  3. Open the Contracts tab
  4. Click on +New conditions
  5. In Working hours, update the following details:
    • Contract hours, Period and Working days: update to full-time
    • Maximum annual hours
    • Maximum weekly hours
    • Maximum daily hours
    • Working time % (up to 100)
  6. Review all information carefully
  7. Click on Update conditions to create the new contract

If the contract still appears as part-time, make sure the new contract has been created and saved and check that the start date is current or in the past.

If there are overlapping contract dates, verify that the previous part-time contract ends before the new one begins.

If payroll is not updated, review payroll settings and ensure they reflect the new contract conditions.

Tips and best practices

  • Always create a new contract instead of editing the current one to keep a clear history
  • Ensure the start date matches the agreed transition date
  • Double-check salary and benefits adjustments
  • Confirm compliance with local labor regulations and document employee agreement

FAQ

  1. Can I schedule the change for a future date?
Yes, you can set a future start date so the new full-time contract begins automatically.

  2. Do I need employee approval?
Yes, this type of change usually requires mutual agreement. Check your local labor regulations.
