You can now export the actual payment data sent through Banking directly from a bulk payment. This export helps you reconcile your bank movements using the same information that was used to generate your SEPA payment file, reducing discrepancies and saving time during reconciliation.
Overview
The Payment export provides a complete record of the transfers included in a bulk payment. Unlike the Expenses export, it reflects the data used by Banking to process payments, making it the most reliable source for bank reconciliation.
Use this export when you need to:
- Reconcile completed SEPA payments against your bank statement or SEPA file
- Verify the payment status of each beneficiary
- Review payment details such as legal entity, IBAN, amount, or payment source
- Trace a payment back to its original expense or invoice
How to use
- In your sidebar, go to Treasury
- Access the Payments tab
- Open the bulk payment you want to review
- Click Export
- Download the file in your preferred format (CSV or Excel)
- Compare the exported data with your bank statement or SEPA payment file to reconcile payments
- The export includes one row per beneficiary payment and contains the following information:
- Legal entity
- Beneficiary
- IBAN
- Amount
- Currency
- Payment status
- Rejection reason (if applicable)
- IBAN validity
- Source type
- Due date
- Source link to the original expense or invoice
The Source link is also available from the transfer details and payment request item side panels, allowing you to quickly open the related expense or invoice.
If the exported totals do not match your Expenses export, this is expected. The Payment export contains the data that was actually sent to the bank, while the Expenses export is designed for expense reporting and may differ due to changes such as legal entity updates or reimbursement values.
If you cannot find duplicate rows for retried payments, it is because only the latest payment attempt for each transfer is included in the export. Previous failed or retried attempts are excluded to simplify reconciliation.
If you need to identify the original expense or invoice, use the Source column in the export or the Source link available in the transfer and payment request item side panels.
Tips and best practices
- Use the Payment export instead of the Expenses export when reconciling bank payments. It represents the actual transfers sent through Banking
- Compare the export directly with your SEPA payment file to ensure both data sources match
- If a payment has been retried, only the latest transfer attempt is included in the export, helping you avoid duplicate records during reconciliation
- Review rejected payments using the payment status, rejection reason, and IBAN validity columns before creating a new payment attempt
