Overview
The Add compensations in bulk feature allows HR and Finance teams to apply the same additional compensation setup to multiple employees simultaneously.
This functionality helps ensure data consistency across contracts and reduces manual work when managing compensation changes at scale.
When and Why It Should Be Used:
- Add the same compensation type (e.g., meal allowance, bonus, or transport stipend) to several employees’ active contracts.
- Ensure all selected employees follow the same payment cycle and start date rules.
- Avoid repetitive manual entries for each contract individually.
How to Use
- On your sidebar, go to the Organization page
- Select the employees to whom you want to add the compensation
- Click Bulk edit → Add compensations in bulk
- On the new screen, configure the details of the additional compensation (type, amount, start date, and recurrence)
- Review your configuration and click Create to add the compensation to all selected employees
How it works
The compensation is applied to each employee’s current active contract version (not to past or future ones).
- For employees whose contract is already active, the first payment follows the chosen start date.
- For employees whose contract starts later, the system automatically shifts the first payment to the next valid recurrence to keep everyone aligned.
Example:
If in October you add a compensation that recurs every two months:
An active employee receives the first payment in October and the next in December.
An employee starting in November receives the first payment in December, keeping both on the same payment cycle.
Important: Compensations are only generated for full months. If a contract starts after the 1st of the month, no automatic compensation will be generated for that month, but you can add it manually if needed.
Troubleshooting
-
A compensation didn’t appear in an employee’s contract.
- Check if the employee’s contract starts after the 1st of the month. Compensations for partial months aren’t generated automatically.
- Confirm that the contract is active — the functionality only applies to active contract versions.
- Verify the recurrence setup to ensure the payment cycle matches the employee’s contract dates.
FAQ
-
Can I add compensations to future contracts?
No, compensations can only be added to the current active contract version.
-
What happens if I add compensations to employees with different start dates?
The system automatically adjusts the first payment date so that all employees remain aligned in the same recurrence cycle.
-
Can I remove or edit compensations added in bulk?
Yes. Once added, you can manage or delete them directly from each employee’s compensation details.
