Finance permissions control access to sensitive financial data and actions within the system. Assigning the correct finance permissions ensures that users can view, edit, or manage payroll, invoices, and compensation settings according to their role, while maintaining security and compliance.
Properly configuring finance permissions helps protect your organisation from unauthorised changes while allowing employees and managers to perform their tasks efficiently.

Employees must be assigned to the corresponding permissions group for Finance permissions to apply.
How to set up your Finance permissions
- In your sidebar, go to Settings
- Click on Permissions
- Select the Finance section
- Enable or disable the permissions
- Click on Save changes

Some of these permissions let you choose the specific scope of a permission: deciding who a user is allowed to perform a the action on.
- For themselves: Only on their own profile/data.
- For direct and indirect reportees: On employees who report to them, directly or through a hierarchy.
- For people on teams they lead: Only on members of teams they manage.
- For people in their legal entity: Anyone in their department, branch, or company entity.
- For the whole company: Across all employees in the organisation.

Assign ledger accounts to resources
This permission allows the employees inside the specific group of permissions to assign ledger accounts to other Factorial resources.
The user must have permission to See ledger accounts.

This permission allows the employees inside the specific group of permissions to create new budgets.
They will only see the budgets that they either own or are viewers of.

This permission allows the employees inside the specific group of permissions to create spending policies
