Benefit permissions

Understand the essential permissions needed for accessing benefits and how to effectively manage them for maximum advantage.

Benefit permissions control who can access, manage, and update employee benefits within the platform. They ensure sensitive information—such as health plans, allowances, or perks—is handled securely and only by authorised roles.

By assigning benefit permissions, organisations can maintain accurate records, streamline benefits administration, and protect employee privacy.

Employees must be assigned to the corresponding permissions group for Benefit permissions to apply.

 

 

How to set up your Benefit permissions

  1. In your sidebar, go to Settings
  2. Click on Permissions
  3. Select the Benefit section
  4. Enable or disable the permissions
  5. Click on Save changes

Some permissions let you choose the specific scope of a permission: deciding who a user is allowed to perform a the action on.

  • For themselves: Only on their own profile/data.
  • For direct and indirect reportees: On employees who report to them, directly or through a hierarchy.
  • For people on teams they lead: Only on members of teams they manage.
  • For people in their legal entity: Anyone in their department, branch, or company entity.
  • For the whole company: Across all employees in the organisation.

  • Manage benefits

    This permission allows the employees inside the specific group of permissions to view and configure benefits, enroll people, adjust spending limits, and request additional benefit options.

Enable this permission for View transactions linked to benefits to work.

  • View transactions linked to benefits

    This permission allows the employees inside the specific group of permissions to view all transactions linked to the benefits program, including card payments, healthcare, and childcare expenses.

The user must have permission to Manage benefits.

 

You can choose the scope of this permission.
