Teams permissions

Explore how to manage and configure Teams permissions effectively to enhance collaboration and streamline workflow within your organization.

Teams permissions in Factorial define who can view, create, edit, and manage teams within the organisation. By setting the appropriate access levels, you ensure teams are structured correctly, responsibilities are clear, and organisational data remains accurate and secure.

Employees must be assigned to the corresponding permissions group for contracts permissions to apply.

 

 

How to set up your Teams permissions

  1. In your sidebar, go to Settings
  2. Click on Permissions
  3. Select the Teams section
  4. Enable or diable permissions 
  5. Click on Save changes

Some permissions let you choose the specific scope of a permission in Factorial: deciding who a user is allowed to perform a certain action on.

  • For themselves: Only on their own profile/data.
  • For direct and indirect reportees: On employees who report to them, directly or through a hierarchy.
  • For people on teams they lead: Only on members of teams they manage.
  • For people in their legal entity: Anyone in their department, branch, or company entity.
  • For the whole company: Across all employees in the organisation.
 

 

Teams permissions

 

  • Can see teams

    This permission allows the employees inside the specific group of permissions to view the list of teams and their basic information. Users with this access can see team names and members, but cannot create, edit, or manage teams unless additional permissions are granted.

Enable this permission for all the other teams permissions to work.

 

 

  • Can see teams section

    This permission allows the employees inside the specific group of permissions to access and view the Teams section. Users with this permission can navigate the section and see its content, but cannot make changes unless additional team permissions are granted.

  • Create teams

    This permission allows the employees inside the specific group of permissions to create new teams. Users with this access can define team names and add members, helping keep the organisation’s team structure up to date.

The user must have permission to Can see teams and Can see teams section.

 

 

  • Can manage teams

    This permission allows the employees inside the specific group of permissions to add members, rename team, delete team, make a member a team leader, and delete a member from the team.

The user must have enabled the permission to Can see teams and Can see teams section.

 

You can choose the scope of this permission.
