Common Errors in Reports and Solutions

Are you experiencing errors with one of your reports? Let us guide on how to fix these errors that arise in order for you to visualise the data.

1. Custom Field Deleted

☝🏽When a report uses custom fields but is deleted, the report continues to try and return its data but fails like if it doesn't exist.

To solve this problem:

  1. Go to the detail of your report.
  2. Check that the report is using custom fields.
  3. Compare the custom fields in the report with those in your account in Company > Customization > Custom fields.
  4. If a custom field included in the report doesn't appear in the Customization section, try to delete it.
  5. The report should work after deleting the problematic fields.

2. Field Without Permissions

☝🏽When a report uses fields but the user has no permission to see that data the report doesn't show results to avoid security problems.

To solve this problem:

  1. Go to the detail of your report.
  2. Check which fields you can't see.
  3. Ask the admin of your company account
  4. The admin could check if you should see the data and activate the permissions.

3. App Uninstalled

☝🏽When a report uses data from an uninstalled app, the report continues trying to return its data, but as it doesn't exist, the report fails.

To solve this problem:

  1. Go to the detail of your report.
  2. Check that the report is using fields from an uninstalled app.
  3. If a field included in the report belongs to an uninstalled app try to delete it.
  4. The report should work after deleting the problematic fields.

4. SQL Syntax Error

☝🏽When a report is built using SQL code directly can include some syntax errors that make conflicts and we can't show any result.

To solve this problem:

  • Check that all the columns you are calling exist and don't have and have no error in their name
  • Check that you have not forgotten a comma "," between columns
  • Check that the order of the SQL statements is correct (SELECT, FROM, JOINS, WHERE, ORDER, and HAVING)
