How to Add Public Holidays for the Upcoming Year

Planning holidays in advance is crucial for maintaining a smooth workflow, as it helps teams organize their schedules and avoid any surprises regarding time off. With our platform, you can easily add holidays to your workplace calendar for the upcoming year, ensuring that everyone stays informed about important days off. To make this process simple, we offer two easy methods. 

Only admis can set up bank holidays.

 

 

Importing Bank Holidays

This option simplifies bank holidays management by automatically importing official public holidays relevant to your location. Here’s how it works:

  1. Click on Settings and navigate to the Workplaces Section
  2. Click on “edit workplace” on the Selected Workplace where you want to add the publics holidays
  3. Go to the Bank Holidays Tab
  4. Click on Import Holidays
  5. Select "Import Holidays" to begin the process of adding public holidays
  6. Choose Country and Year: 
    1. Select the appropriate country and the year for which you want to import the holidays. This will pull in both national and, where applicable, regional holidays.
  7. Click on “import public holidays” to finalize the Import

 


 

Adding Custom Holidays Manually

For organizations with unique holiday requirements, you have the flexibility to manually add custom holidays that may not be covered in the standard list of public holidays. Here’s how to add them:

  1. Click on Settings and navigate to the Workplaces Section
  2. Click on “edit workplace” on the Selected Workplace where you want to add the publics holidays
  3. Go to the Bank Holidays Tab
  4. Click on “Add a  custom holidays”
  5. Enter bank Holiday Details
    1. Name: Give the holiday a name that clearly identifies it for your team.
    2. Type: Choose between "Full Day" or "Half Day" to specify the holiday duration.
    3. Date: Set the date for the holiday.
  6. Click on “Add custom holiday” to save the Holiday

 


How to delete a bank holiday

To remove or modify a bank holiday on the platform, follow these steps:

  1. Click on Settings and navigate to the Workplaces Section
  2. Click on “edit workplace” on the Selected Workplace where you want to add the publics holidays
  3. Go to the Bank Holidays Tab
  4. Choose the Correct Year. 
    1. Use the arrows to select the year of the bank holiday you want to delete or edit.
  5. Select the Bank Holiday. 
    1. Scroll through the list to locate the holiday you want to modify and click on the holiday.
  6. Delete or Edit the Holiday. 
    1. After clicking on the holiday, you will see options to either delete or edit it. Choose "Delete" to remove the holiday or "Edit" to make adjustments.

 

How to view Bank Holidays on the Calendar

Bank holidays are highlighted in red to help you differentiate them from regular workdays and personal time off.

 

View your own Bank Holidays

  1. Navigate to the sidebar on your dashboard and click on Time Off
  2. In your Time Off calendar, all designated bank holidays are marked in red. These red-highlighted days indicate official holidays and are separate from personal time-off requests or absences

 

 

View Bank Holidays for Other Employees

If you have the necessary permissions to view other employees' schedules, you can also check the bank holidays in their calendars. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Employees tab from the sidebar
  2. Select the employee whose calendar you want to view
  3. Click on the Time Off section within the employee's profile
  4. In their calendar, bank holidays are also marked in red, making it easy to identify holidays at a glance
