Do you need to carry out an order for corporate t-shirts, but don't know the sizes of your employees? Would you like to know if any of your employees are allergic to lactose? Would it be necessary to know which languages your employees speak?
All this and much more, you can add it in Factorial! And you might wonder... How can I add this information in Factorial, if there are no fields for it?
It's very simple!
Here are the Custom Fields. By creating custom fields, you can add as much information as you want about your employees, so that you or they can fill in the fields and you can collect this information in an excel report.
How can I create custom fields?
In the blink of an eye.
Simply go to the Company > Customization > Custom Fields settings and you will see that you will have the option to start creating custom fields clicking the blue button.
Once you click on the button to create a custom field, you will be presented with this pop-up to configure it.
In the custom field settings, you will be able to add:
- A title for the custom field. e.g. T-shirt size, allergy, personal e-mail, languages, etc.
- The type of course. Text, long text, date, number, true or false and single-choice (showed in the example).
- For whom is this field visible. e.g. If it is personal data, you should put for administrator and employee.
- Who can edit this field.
Once you have created a custom field, simply click on "Create custom field", and it will appear in the list on the right. In this list, you can delete or edit all the fields created.
Where can employees fill in these custom fields?
The employee will be able to access the custom field through his or her profile. Simply select My Profile > Profile, and scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you will have the option of filling in these fields.
They will simply have to fill in the fields and press the "Save" button.
How can I compile this data in a report?
There will arrive a moment when you need to make that order of t-shirts for all the staff, and to avoid going employee by employee, consulting their profile, you can download an excel report with all this data collected in the custom fields.
To download the employee report, simply go to Employees > Press the download button at the top right of your screen. To learn more about how to download reports, you can consult this article.
Once you have downloaded the file, open it and you will see that all the data of the custom fields will be collected in the last column of the excel file with the orange field.
